Nokia E51 Delivers what it promises

So Nokia has launched another mobile into the ever expanding mobile market and this time it seems to have finally pleased more people than usual. The Nokia E51 is a very simple phone and unlike most other cell phones, does not promise to bring the best of everything. Modern day mobile has become more than a simple device that connects people. It now has to offer different features to people whose interests vary widely. With E51, Nokia has kept it very simple by trying to produce an excellent business phone which is not at the high end of the market.

For starters, the E51 looks not too attractive and it’s very simple ‘candy bar’ look is more boring than classy. What makes it more ungainly is the fact that its bright five-centimeter screen is almost as large as the keyboard and makes it look very odd. While some might agree on the design as it is basically aimed at being a business phone, still it is no excuse for being so ‘lazy’ on the design. In this time and age, design sells and Nokia maybe should take a leaf out of Sony Ericsson’s book there.

The keys on the phone are slightly flusher to the fascia than other Nokia mobiles but benefit from a subtle camber and excellent tactile response. There are also handy shortcut keys to browse your email, calendar and address book, and the “home” key has been assigned the more sensible and familiar icon of a house. Nothing much to rave about; but nothing to complain about either. Nokia looks solid as always.

The E51 has built-in Wi-Fi connection and is very good with all the business features. Sure they have put in a mandatory MP3 player with a 256 MB MicroSD card but again that is just an added incentive. It has a poor 2 mega pixel camera and with no front camera there is not possibility of two-way video calls. The E51 might be value for money at $679 for some, but I really do not still get what all the fuss is about. If you are looking for a fun phone, do not even consider it. If you want a cool looking phone, even then forget about this one. If you want a business phone, then maybe you can take a look at it. I’m just not very impressed with the E51 despite it having delivered what it promised - a simple phone for business needs. But I’m sure opinions vary on that.

Although Sony has not yet announced an official price for this HD Projector, it is expected to be a lot cheaper than the VW60—helping the buyer to save at least 3500 Pounds. This delightful and extremely ‘affordable’ product from Sony is sure to be an object of great delight for all users across the world.

Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition

This is the Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition, offering the usual AMG upgrades. This Benz is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 Biturbo engine, generating 612 horsepower. One of the unique parts will be the paint. They use a paint called Alubeam where you won’t find on any other production model car on this Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG 40th Anniversary Edition.

The silvery paint is made of pigment particles that measures just 30 to 50 nanometers which are much smaller that normal metallic paint. It allows it to coat the surface more evenly and reflect the light more intensively.

Sony Has New Digital Photo Frames

Sony introduced its new S-Frame brand of digital photo frames that comprises of DPF-V900, DPF-V700, and DPF-D70. Common features include :-

* 15:9 aspect-ratio screens

* Advanced image processor

* 10 slide show variations

* Clock and calendar views

* Two index modes to preview a bunch of photos simultaneously

Both the 7? DPF-V700 and 9? DPF-V900 come with 512MB of internal memory, while the 7? DPF-D70 has half that amount. The first two mentioned models come with Bluetooth and HDTV connectivity, making image transfer a cinch. The DPF-V900, DPF-V700, and DPF-D70 digital photo frames will be available for $250, $190 and $140 respectively when March rolls around.

Epson launches PictureMate PM270 A marvelous compact photo printer

With each passing day, it seems the stuff surrounding us both in our office as well as personal desk are becoming more and more obsolete and ancient. Companies across the world seem to be so hellbent on making each previous product look outdated, I wonder if there will come a day when the electronic industry will become similar to the fashion trends in Paris! — you buy something in the morning and it becomes old by the evening.
Fortunately, we are not yet there and can atleast carry our cellphones with certain degree of confidence. But, it is not the same for that old black and white printer; at least not after the launch of the Epson’s PictureMate PM270 4R portable photo printer that comes complete with a carry handle and folds into a box when not in use. Now if you think it to be wonderful, just wait until you see the features on this new baby. For starters though, it does its primary job to lets say ‘perfecting picture’.

The quality of the print is really good and it matches most printers in the same clan, if not better. It is integrated with Epson Claria PhotoEnhance, an ‘automatic scene correction function’ that optimizes skin tones, color casts and exposure levels to produce photos as close to perfection as possible. It also allows you to print without being directly connected to a PC with the various features that it sports. A tiltable 3.6? color LCD screen, PictBridge devices for direct photo printing and a Bluetooth toggle to print photos even from your cell or any other Bluetooth enabled device.
These features further ensure that you can do away with a compulsory PC usage. It also has a dedicated zoom function and improved design featuring membrane textured buttons, easier on the fingers than plastic keys and also contains a slot for the memory card. All in all, it looks like a wonderful buy and is priced at around Rs.11, 500 (around $288). For all the functions it offers, it simply is a great buy. It is a wonderful asset for those who might need a printer on travel and just the fact that it gives an option to operate without a PC support, making it much more viable.

NEC Flask Phone sports fuel cell not for human consumption

NEC is set to begin pushing fuel cell-powered handsets if the pic we see here can be believed. The handset features a touchscreen display and what appears to be valve to potentially recharge the handset once the fuel has all been used. Color choices are a bit too pastel for our liking, but it appears the liquid provides the color, so perhaps we’ll get some cooler tones when it’s released sometime this year — if it’s released. No word on any specs, pricing, networks, or anything, so until we get that bit of detail sorted, enjoy the pretty pic.
